How to make a Trifold Brochure in Word
Thinking about making trifold brochures in Word? You should have in mind that pamphlets and brochures are definitely effective and innovative marketing for all kinds of industries and business, but only if they are done right and in a professional manner. That is why it is important to know how to actually make these types of brochures in a professional way.
First and foremost, you should have full access to a certified and well-known design program. The ones we are suggesting are Adobe’s Illustrator or Adobe’s Photoshop. Having some background information about graphic design is also very important before you begin doing your personal design.
However, if you do not have these programs, then you should also know that it is possible to make trifold brochures in Word, too. There are a few simple tips and tricks that will help you become the master of Word brochures in a short amount of time! You can use Office 2010, or a newer version of Word, whatever you have and whatever is your preference.
First of all you should open one new Word doc and then, go the “PAGE SETUP” part. Open the options part.
Then you will see the dialogue box where you should change the MARGINS section with .5 and after that, change the section ORIENTATION with the word “LANDSCAPE”. These are the perfect settings for the process of creating a brochure in Word.
After you have finished doing that, the next thing you need to do is click the word COLUMNS and scroll under the part PAGE LAYOUT.
If you want to create the traditional trifold piece, then you need to select the column option THREE. Sometimes, it can be slightly challenging and confusing when you try to make a visual photo in your head of the way you want your brochure to look like.
The end product can be quite different from your first idea. You should always check the graphics in the columns and see whether they are going to be printed in the correct manner when you finish doing the brochure. You can choose whichever body text font, size and color you like, but you can try and look for some graphic design courses before you start doing your brochure, even if it is in Word, because that way you will find out the most important rules to creating a good looking and innovative brochure.
If your preference is your brochure to be simply opening to the inside pages, then you should complete the 2 templates in Word called “3-column”. When you finish printing, you can simply attach both of them before you fold the brochure. If you want your brochure to look professional and if you want people not to assume that you have created it in a Word document, you should opt for printing in a double-sided manner, always!
